I’m blogging on WordPress for 4 years, and I’ve got some blogs, the main one being Cardboard Towns where I post some paintings & doodles of mine. So, I obviously like WP enough to use it. But this could come to an end.
The first (and most important) issue I encoutered was when WP became more and more integrated with Gravatar, which was acquired by Automattic, and which is a known tracker, even blacklisted on Ghostery (the privacy-protection plugin for browsers). As if it weren’t bad enough, a number of other similar techniques can be found on WP, such as the intrusive GoogleAnalytics.
Anyway, this post is about something else: the new editor and its dumb interface. I wonder how many people do really like and use that stuff. Apart from being slower, the new design is detached from the dashboard and more integrated with the infamous Gravatar one. And there is that unfunny joke at the very beginning – Beep Beep Boop.
I always have to switch manually to the good old, handy editor, because this one pops up anyway. And this may well prove to be the last straw that breaks the camel’s back and make me migrate on some other blogging platform.
